Entries for June, 2019

June 24

After 2 months of unemployed, I agreed to a reliever post for 2 days, Saturday and Sunday. I was honestly hesitant at first but I agreed since it happened on a weekend.

June 22 (Saturday)
For the first few hours, there were no patients coming in at all! Although I took a phone call from a patient being assisted in scheduling her for CT scan at I-Scan. Of course, the courteous me really attended to her and extended my hand even. After finishing, the remaining hours before my co-shift came none came in. I spent these hours of course busy removing charts for filing and sorting others as well. I was able to sort them then all of a sudden, my first patient came for the day. A post-mandibular squamous CA patient with titanium implant and which has protruded his chin for sometime now. To be honest, he is scared to know that his CA might be active again. For the past few months, our facility has been diagnosing and caring for too many CA patients. I just realized now.

Then in the afternoon, had few more patients but I had a patient who came in for follow up labs for her Hepatitis status. I already saw how she is misinformed about her condition because she was expecting that she'd be healed by now which is something I couldn't confront her about right away. I believe I knew the answer but I think I wasn't in the position to correct that. Although I was able to convince her to have her complete profile repeated for sure.
